Rydal Hall offers a unique Lake District stay with a range of accommodation including camping pitches, glamping pods, woodland cabins, holiday cottages and comfortable bedrooms in the historic hall.

Set within extensive gardens and walking trails, it’s an ideal base for exploring the Lake District or simply unwinding in peaceful surroundings. Guests can enjoy our on-site Tea Room, scenic grounds and easy access to incredible walking trails, nearby lakes and fells.

At the heart of the Hall is our historic chapel, where daily services take place. Rydal Hall is a well-established destination for Christian retreats, while warmly welcoming guests of all backgrounds—whether you’re seeking spiritual reflection, a group getaway, or simply a peaceful place to stay.

The Cafe At Rydal

Originally built by Sir Daniel Fleming as a schoolroom for his sons. Visit our tea shop and sample our selection of delicious soups, sandwiches, salads, locally sourced handmade cakes & traybakes, Windermere ice-cream and hot and cold drinks.

Just back from 2 nights camping at Rydal Hall. Perfect few days. Check in 2pm. Go reception in the Hall and get your pitch number and pass for car and tent. Easy to find pitches and your closest parking area. Shower/Toilet block immaculate can not fault. Kitchen area very clean and maintained to a high standard. Lovely peaceful site, tea shop by the waterfall is very nice and the gardens are lovely. Would definitely go agin. Quick drive into Ambleside or you can walk.

We really enjoyed our long weekend at Rydal Hall. The room was clean, bed comfortable, staff were friendly, plenty of choice for breakfast and nice home cooked food for the evening meal. We enjoyed the library, sitting in the well kept gardens and local walks. We appreciated that Rydal Hall is in a rural location but also very close to a good bus route to explore further afield. All in all we had a very relaxing break and we definitely plan to visit again.

Amazing views from the pitches, very clean bathrooms with everything you need, lots of things to explore in the gardens, great for all ages. Wonderful customer service and great pitches. Don't miss the art sculptures! Plenty of walks around the area and a great pub at the bottom. White moss car park just down the road has a great swimming spot next to it and an easy walk up to rydal caves. If you have time, make sure you explore up the beck to buckstones jump!
