The Bishop Bulley Barn
The Bishop Bulley Barn can be hired for events:
- can accommodate up to 100 people
- with its own toilet facilities, stage and minstrel’s gallery
- it is perfect for larger events, practical workshops, celebrations, dances and training events
As part of our celebration of summer our artist in residence, Dianne Standen, has created a permanent exhibition of her textile artwork throughout the lower floor of Rydal Hall’s Bishop Bulley Barn.
Created from woollen fabric interspersed with felt strips and beads, the colours have been chosen to reflect the sunshine enjoyed throughout the season and the water in Rydal beck which flows through the grounds.
These textiles can be enjoyed by anyone who would like to hire the Barn at competitive prices for any event requiring a large open space to accommodate up to 100 people. Daily and hourly rates are available. Catering and refreshments can also be provided if required.
More of Diane’s work can be found in the Sculpture Path which winds its way through the woodlands to the rear of the Hall. A leaflet is available from Reception and the Tea Shop.
She regularly updates her Facebook page, Instagram and Pinterest with any new images of work in the grounds. For further information of courses, she teaches at her studio in Brigham, near Cockermouth, please contact Diane directly.
