Let Go and Let God:
A creative space to listen, reflect, stitch, pray and draw closer to God.
29th to the 31st October 2027
Starting at 4pm on the 29th and ending at 3pm on the 31st.
Using the story of Bartimeaus, alongside creative, quiet led Biblical reflections we will explore ways in which we come to God, and how meeting with Jesus has the potential to transform lives.
Participants will be supported to respond prayerfully through individual hand stitched journalling, allowing colours, threads & textures to speak as we ponder what God may be saying to us. There will be supportive space to be creative, listen, reflect, and receive from God. The emphasis will be on allowing the power of God’s gift of creativity to draw us closer to Himself, rather than on a polished finished product. All materials will be provided, but if you have your own sewing kit or threads that you prefer to use, then please do bring them with you.
A short evening session will also take place with Karen on Friday and Saturday after evening meals.
About Karen:
Your retreat guide will be Karen Herrick, from Harlequin Arts who will be leading & supporting you throughout the retreat. Karen is a freelance artist-educator, delivering creative sessions for wellbeing across many sectors of the community. She enjoys enabling and inspiring others to be creative, facilitating connections through creativity & contemplation- combining teaching skills with her love of colour, textiles, and Christian faith. She is part of the Derby Diocese spiritual accompanier training course team and enjoys supporting others to draw closer to God through both her art & creative quiet days and retreats. She stitches stories of faith through textile art and writes a blog “Sanctuary in Stitch”, journaling her spiritual journey in stitch. www.harlequinarts.co.uk
