Christmas at Rydal Hall

December 23, 2026

From £725 per room

Celebrate Christmas at Rydal Hall with a five-day festive stay from 23 to 27 December 2026, in the peaceful surroundings of our Lake District estate.

23 December

Arrive from 2pm. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure and feel free to join us for the Christmas Carol Service at St Mary’s Church, followed by dinner, mulled wine and a mince pie.

24 December – Christmas Eve

Enjoy a relaxed day with time to explore the gardens or Chapel. Afternoon activities include a family-friendly Christmas event and outdoor carols. Dinner is followed by mince pies, mulled wine and (for those wishing to attend) Midnight Mass.

25 December – Christmas Day

Begin with a choice of Christmas Day services, followed by a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. In the afternoon, enjoy the King’s Speech and a relaxed evening buffet.

26 December – Boxing Day

Take a winter walk, relax in the Hall or enjoy traditional board games and your favourite Christmas films. Dinner is served in the evening.

27 December

Depart by 10am, or stay on for our informal Christmas concert — a much-loved Rydal tradition where guests are invited to share a song, poem, reading or musical performance.

Breakfast is served daily, with tea and coffee available throughout the day. The Tea Shop is open during your stay, except Christmas Day.

Chapel

The Chapel will be open daily for those wishing to pray. There will be a host Chaplain available over the Christmas period.
