Retreat Description:
This is a high quality workshop where participants will be taught how to create a small stone sculpture that they can keep. Participants can work on carving their own block of limestone and can create a relief carved shape from a pre prepared template or from their own design.
All stone, tools, safety equipment and expert tuition are provided.
This course is suitable for all levels, however, stone carving can be quite physical so participants are encouraged to work at their own pace and to have plenty rests.

Graeme has been creating large scale stone sculptures in the public realm for 30 years. He has many important artworks sited all over the UK including sculptures at the National Memorial Arboretum and an award winning sculpture commemorating the life of former England football manager, Sir Bobby Robson in Newcastle City Centre.
Graeme has been running stone carving courses throughout this time either from his Leicestershire workshop or as part of community engagement events related to some of the large sculpture projects.
