Rydal Hall is the Diocese of Carlisle Conference, Retreat and Holiday Centre

Rydal Hall welcomes conference groups (for both residential and day events) and also private guests to stay in the hall. Rydal Hall offers a warm and friendly home from home in the heart of the English Lake District.

We have a range of accommodation within our idyllic 34 acre site including a youth centre, campsite, self-catering cottage and three eco-pods.

Owned and operated by the Diocese of Carlisle, Rydal Hall aims to promote and support the Christian Faith through conferences, events and retreats in and beyond the Diocese.

Beautifully restored over many years, the Hall and the surrounding estate and buildings are available for individuals and groups to come and enjoy. We have the advantage of having a large estate which includes the restored Thomas Mawson garden (open every day 10am – 4pm) and over 34 acres of woodland with a free flowing beck which produces the majestic Rydal waterfalls (made famous by William Wordsworth).

We welcome conference guests, families, youth groups, couples – in short anyone looking for a tranquil retreat in one of the UK’s finest beauty spots.
