Quiet Day - Questioning Jesus
- Saturday 4 September
- 9:30am - 5:30pm
- Tutor: Trevor Pitt
Trevor Pitt, a retired Anglican priest, Canon Emeritus of Newcastle Cathedral, and formerly the Principal of the North East Ecumenical Course.
The talks will begin with some shared discussion of the most important questions we would like to ask Jesus frankly, (based on Mark 7: 24-37)
This time, we shall be able to gather as a group physically together in the same room after the long lockdown!
We shall begin the day by introducing ourselves and letting go of any concerns we have brought with us. There will be a short first talk on the theme before a shared period of silence. After lunch, a second short talk, and an invitation to some group discussion if needed.
We will also have some time for quiet walks around Rydal Hall grounds, weather dependant. To notice simple things and look carefully. Slow days afford the time and patience to notice small things, feel pleasure and deeper appreciation, things we might have missed in times when we tried to do everything.
The day will end with a final eucharist, gathering together in thanksgiving all the gifts we may have received, before leaving for home, relaxed and spiritually refreshed.
