Leader: Lesley McCririe
Lesley has lived in Cumbria since 2012, running bed and breakfasts with her husband Neil in the Langdale area and more recently in Sedbergh. Combining bed and breakfast with Quiet Days and Retreats, she and her husband offered a place of rest and refreshment both to holiday visitors and those looking for spiritual nourishment and prayer. Now retired Lesley is a member of Cumbria Ecumenical Spirituality Group. Her passion is about creating ways for people to experience and know the love of God in everyday life. She has 3 grown up children, 2 of whom live outside the UK and 6 grandchildren. So travel is both a love and necessity. She enjoys walking on the fells with Gus her black Labrador, gardening, reading, yoga, good coffee and of course cake!

“Earth’s crammed with heaven and every common bush afire with God. But only he who sees takes off his shoes; the rest sit round it and pluck blackberries.” Elizabeth Barrett Browning - Aurora Leigh
Every day there are moments just waiting to open up for us to ‘see’, like opening a window of the soul. Maybe new ways of seeing something of ourselves and God. During the day we will be exploring together those moments which have the potential to ‘open up’ before us to encounter God, moments of grace where we take off our shoes if we recognise what is being offered. There will be some time to reflect together on such an encounter in the gospels using an imaginative contemplation plus plenty of time for personal prayer and reflection. You will be encouraged to wander, take off your shoes..........it is all Holy ground......
Our Quiet Days are free of charge, but Donations are welcome, and booking is required, please. Tea/Coffee provided. You are welcome to bring a Packed Lunch, or alternatively, you may wish to visit our Tea Shop.
Free Car Parking: permit available from Reception.
