New Year, New Creation Quiet Day

January 22, 2026

£20

Led by Rev Lawrence Basham, Chaplain

Following the popularity of our recent Quiet Days at Rydal Hall, we are delighted to begin the new year with a day of gentle reflection, prayer, and renewal. January offers a natural pause — a time to take breath, to look back with honesty, and to look ahead with hope. This Quiet Day is an invitation to step into that space and allow God to make all things new.

Set in the peaceful surroundings of Rydal Hall, the day will draw on Scripture, the beauty of creation, and the gift of silence. Rev Lawrence Basham will lead us through three short reflections on themes of mercy, new beginnings, and God’s ongoing work of new creation in our lives. There will be time for personal prayer, journaling, creative reflection, and unhurried moments outdoors in the winter landscape.

The day includes:
• Opening worship centred on the promise of Revelation 21:5 — “Behold, I am making all things new.”
• Guided reflections exploring Isaiah 43, 2 Corinthians 5, and Psalm 96.
• Quiet spaces for walking, journaling, or sitting prayer by the waterfall.
• Optional contemplative practices, including Lectio Divina and a simple pilgrimage walk.
• Closing worship and blessing for the year ahead.

Whether you are seeking rest, discernment, or simply a space to begin the year with intention, this Quiet Day offers a gentle and supportive environment to encounter God’s renewing presence.

All are welcome.

Tea and coffee provided on arrival; soup and sandwich lunch included.

Please bring warm clothing, a journal if you have one, and an openness to meet God in stillness.
