Artists in Residence
The following artists will be in residence at Rydal Hall at different times during this year.
From 9 June to 7 July Rydal Hall will welcome guest artist Camila Zaccarelli from Chile who will be on site creating some unusual South American inspired work in our woodland followed by a collaborative exhibition with Dianne Standen in the Old Schoolroom Teashop during July and August. Open daily 10-5 . Waterfall gardens and walks. No admission charges to the Sculpture Path open dawn to dusk daily.
Di has been self employed as a textile designer for twenty years and loves to play with forms and textures. She has been based at Rydal Hall for the past ten years and during that period has helped build up the unique Rydal Hall Sculpture Path. is a local potter living in Ambleside who enjoys using the ancient technique of smoke-firing to decorate her ceramics with scenes from the landscape around her. While she is based at the Rydal Yurt, she intends to decorate a series of bowls with tree and hill outlines which she will observe and sketch on the Rydal Estate. She will then smoke-fire them with natural materials collected on the estate.
works from her Ambleside based studio, she paints in acrylics capturing the atmosphere of the surrounding area. The subject is further explored in clay. Ceramic vessels depict Lake District fells and through sculpture she explores studies from nature. Mandy can be found most days in the artists courtyard on Lake Road, Ambleside.
is an artist who works from her studio in Coniston. Inspired by the landscape where she has lived most of her life, she uses paint and mixed media to produce her work. Her raw experiences on sketching trips form an important part in the development of her work.
