Very many thanks for our recent three days break at Rydal Hall from 18 members of Jesmond Parish Church. We all very much enjoyed our stay – it was a great base from which to go out and explore the area. We much appreciated all that you did for us – accommodation and excellent food – all was very much appreciated! We hope to stay at Rydal Hall again.

Congratulations! A warm welcome and offer to carry my suitcases up 2 flights much appreciated. My room was very comfortable with excellent bathroom facilities – hot water always without wasting water to get it. All meals excellent – delicious evening meals without enormous helpings. Public rooms very attractive and asnwered all our needs. (Art room excellent and light good.) Perfect gardens etc. without sight of a gardener! Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.
Another brilliant retreat – thank you. It is such a good idea to keep the large tables for meals – so many friendships are formed, and no-one feels alone. Apart from the lovely rooms at the front of the house, room 16 is the best I’ve stayed in. The room is cosy, the bed so comfortable and the shower is fantastic. Thank you. God bless. Love to all.

Everything superb, with a very friendly atmosphere.
The meals have been superb – very imaginative ideas, especially for vegetarians. (I am not one, but could have chosen that option every night, and did, twice.) So congratulations to the chef. Portion sizes are just right – quality rather than quantity is always very wise. And the size of bowls/plates etc. reflect this. High standards of service in the dining room, friendly, efficient. Everything well presented and hot.
Excellent menu choices and imaginative vegetarian dishes. Delicious meals, very well presented, always hot, and gracious staff who sense sensitivity. Will be pleased to recommend Rydal Hall to others and most appreciative of this first experience of staying here – do hope to be blessed with/by another visit.

Really good that you cater for special diets without fuss so people who need to follow them know they are catered for and don’t need to ask about each item on the menu. Lovely peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you for the help with the internet and garages and tyres.
We have been very lucky and had lovely weather for our visit, the grounds are lovely and I’m sorry I won’t be here to see all the borders in their full glory. Thanks for making my visit so enjoyable, to everyone.

I really enjoyed my weekend. The beautiful grounds and the peacefulness of everywhere outside. Could feel God’s presence every place. The facilities were really great. Beautiful bedroom, bathroom with all mod cons. Food was excellent and staff very friendly and polite. God bless you as you seek to serve Him.
Excellent catering but main dish portions of meat and fish could be doubled. Whoever makes those tray-bakes – especially that chocolate biscuit cake – give them a pay rise!

Lovely. Friendly. Problem with shower sorted out promptly and without fuss. The gardener kindly dug up a bit of a plant which I admired – so I will have a bit of Rydal to take home with me. Thanks so much.

This is an amazing place. The location is stunning, the building is fascinating and the food outstanding. Particularly the vegetables, which were cooked to perfection. The opportunity to meet other people, either on interesting courses or just visiting, was an added bonus.
Fantastic week painting icons in such a wonderful setting. Looking forward to coming back with my family – I have three children under 9 who would love to stay here. It’s been a truly superb course. Thank you very much.

Such lovely friendly staff who were so helpful and accommodating. Lovely clean and modern accommodation. Really nice surroundings. We’ve all had such a lovely time. Thank you for being so accommodating to the children. It was lovely to come here and find they were allowed to go anywhere, including the grass in the formal garden!

The venue was wonderful in every way. The comfort of the room being matched with excellent food (plenty of it) and of course peaceful surroundings. These all contributed to a ‘therapeutic’ and ‘learing’ environment.
