Bulley Barn - Information

Situated in the rural tranquillity of thirty acres of woodland in the grounds of Rydal Hall, the Bishop Bulley Barn has been converted from a well-preserved seventeenth century Westmorland bank barn.

It has a large stage area, a gallery and a main hall. The simple décor complements the wooden beams and natural stonework of the traditional barn. There is parking available nearby, with disabled access from a car park near the main entrance.

It has its own kitchen and toilets, facilities for people with disabilities, a hearing loop and PA system. The Bulley Barn now benefits from an efficient heating system and it is one of the warmest and most comfortable venues in South Lakeland!

The Bishop Bulley Barn is ideally suited for lectures, large meetings, musical events, receptions, barn dances, exhibitions, and it is available for hire by businesses, societies, or individuals. For comfort and safety, the maximum numbers of people allowed in the Bulley Barn are 60  seated at tables, 80 informal finger buffet, 100 barn dance, 120 seated (theatre style).

Lunch-time & evening buffets, tea & coffee and other refreshments can be provided.  Please discuss your catering requirements at the time of booking.  Menus and prices can be supplied on request. We do not allow self catering. The Bulley Barn is licensed and Rydal Hall can provide a Bar by arrangement.

The Hall is a no smoking area.

Please note that certain limitations and restrictions are observed by users of the Bulley Barn. We ask for functions to be finished and the Barn cleared by 11.00pm, to respect campers nearby, and residents in the neighbouring accommodation.
