This week, Rydal Hall welcomes a group of volunteers from Tom Harrison House a specialist facility providing addiction treatment exclusively to military veterans, reservists, emergency personnel, and their families.
The group will be helping restore the Vegetable Garden, turning it into a community garden that will provide a ‘community space’ for local schools and so on.
Kate Jackson, Head Gardener said, “Tom Harrison House came here last year for a trial run and it was incredibly successful. I found their energy and enthusiasm to be inspirational.”
This is the first of four working breaks with Tom Harrison House in 2017. Based in Liverpool, the charity has an exceptional reputation for their work. They have just been awarded a large grant for with partner organisations, Mersey Care NHS Trust, The Royal British Legion (TRBL) to jointly provide “The Veterans National Community Recovery Project” across the UK for a period of two years.
